Humans can be suckers for coincidence....at least that's my observable theory. Case in point; two weeks ago I spent several hours
pulling dozens of cleaning patches through the barrel of my beloved TX200SR. Results: 45 out of 48 "kills" on a challenging course leaving everyone...our current state Piston Champ and a handful of pretty good PCP shooters in the dust. Fast forward this weekend. I decided to super-clean my ZM Steyr. Results: first place; 42 out of 48 and at least 2 of those misses were classic brain farts on easy off-handers.
Clean barrel = Good Score. Is this fact or coincidence? We'll keep you posted on Ron's latest clean barrel theory.
MEANWHILE: An overcast of clouds kept the days temps from becoming too uncomfortable in Southern Florida as DeSoto Airgunners held its second club match of the year. There were occasional strong wind gusts to wait out as the skys cleared making todays 48 shot match more tricky than the kill zone diameters may have let on. Several of our "regular" shooters were out-of-town and the day saw only 7 competitors on the course.
As usual, our little band of "BB gun shooters" drew some attention from the regular firearms crowd at the range. They never fail to be amazed at the form factor and accuracy of our equipment. I only wish more local shooters would try our game.
The De Soto Airgunners next match is May 18. This will be our annual Golf Scored Match. Shoot 'till you hit, low score wins. Probably 8 lanes and 23 targets. Last year's event was a hoot. Come by and give it a try.
