Match Results October 14th 2012
This was our Seasonal Restart Match when the weather finally turns more comfortable and the humidity drops off in SouthWest Florida.
The conditions were near ideal, starting out in the mid 60's and rising to about 80 at the match conclusion. The Sun was shining and a breeze was blowing from the East at about 8 to 10 MPH with a few higher gusts. Today's match consisted of seven lanes; three targets per lane for a total of 42 shots. No forced position lanes.
We had a turnout of seven shooters. We missed a couple "regulars"; Dick and Gordon were both having some medical issues and we wish them speedy recuperation as we look forward to our next match in December. Donovan Taylor, (who made the long trek with Dan Chong from Hollywood Fl), surprised us by shooting in the PISTON Div. Evidently Donovan has found a new love for Spring Guns and plans to compete in the Piston International Division culminating in the World Field Target Competition in Germany, 2013! Good Luck with that HW97 Donovan !
We also had a new shooter, Doug Abbott, who scored a very respectable 16 on his first time out. It's always good to bring new members to the sport. Three competitors decided to shoot Hunter Class ( 2 Springers, 1 PCP) with Jim Getzen the high scorer with his R9. Seems there's growing interest in this new style of Field Target competition.
