Match Results April 13 2014
While the turn out was thin for today's shoot, the quality of enjoyment was fantabulous for our April Club Match. Periodic cast of clouds kept the day's temps from becoming too uncomfortable in the warm Southern Florida.Sun. There were occasional strong wind gusts to wait out as the skys cleared making todays 42 shot match a little more tricky than the kill zone diameters may have let on. Several of our "regular" shooters were out-of-town or busy. We only had 4 registered competitors on the course. The 7 lane course included a "shooters choice" on lane 7 which allowed the option to take on those three targets from any shooting position. ( Standing, Kneeling, sitting, or prone.).
Best news is we had an enthusiastic new competitor, Herb M. who join in with his newly acquired TX200. Herb had barely put a dozen shots through his barrel and only a few numbers on his scope before the match but he managed to kill a few targets along the way. ( He requested that I not post his score. I think this means Herb will prove himself a strong competitor in future shoots. I told him no shooter should be embarrassed by their scores....the trophies aren't big enough !) I also detected more that a few smiles from Herb as we all lunched at a local Mexican joint after the match.
May 11th will be our last "formally scheduled" event before we take a Summer Sabbatical. The humidity and heat can be formidable here in Southwest Florida. I hope we'll have a strong turnout. Keep watching the schedule for any revisions..
