Summer Bench Rest Shoot # 3

A clear sunny morning and mild breeze made for an enjoyable time at the DeSoto Gun Club for our third event in the Sweltering Summer Series of Bench Rest Matches. Each competitor shot three 25 target face cards for a total of 75 shots and a possible perfect score of 750 points.

Among the competitors; Dick Otten whom we haven't seen shoot for some time ( I guess he's been busy at the Rhino field target factory). Dick shot a very respectable 705 for 3rd place. Bill Shade brought his USFT and won the match. A mere 3 points behind, Paul Stakum shot his new HM1000 (in a 12 ft lb setup). Robert Nelson had some issues filling his Cricket but shot that .25 caliber for a score just below 700 while clearing 12 X bullseyes. To say that Jack Rainey is getting pretty consistent with his AAS200 would be understatement...... He shot the identical score as he did in our last bench rest match. Finally; shooting a springer off his knee from the classic seated FT position, Ron Z shot a frustrating 538 and scored a single X for the day.
