I hope the  DeSoto Gun Club will allow us to host additional  Air Rifle Bench Rest activities in the future.</FONT></div> <bR> <div> In deference to the 2015  AAFTA US Nationals taking place this weekend in Ennice NC, the unofficial theme for today's 42 shot, 7 lane club match was <I>“I wish I were at the Nationals”</I> .    The course was set with several very high difficulty shots;  a few targets with 3/8 kill zones set out at challenging distances, and for added difficulty there was one target set in a shallow depression which, (unless you were shooting “hunter” position), was partially obscured.  This forced us bum bag shooters to take it kneeling or offhand.  Lane 7, our usual off-hand lane was also challenging.  Showing his extraordinary skills, Donovan Taylor <I>aced</I> the three offhand targets scoring 6 points.  (The combined score of the next 5 shooters achieved only 8 total hits on that lane !)</div> <bR> <div> As a Match Director, today's highlight was participation by two new shooters:  Gary Palinkas and Otis Davis.  This was their first time shooting an organized FT match at our venue and both shooters did quite well.   I'm confident they will be attending many more DeSoto Airgunner matches. </div> <bR> <div> Conditions for today's event were near ideal.  The humidity is starting to break in SW Florida; Temps ranged for 74 to 82 degrees during the match, a little wind arrived towards the end.  Partly cloudy, but warm sunshine and blue skys dominated while dew points hovered in the mid to upper 60's;  For us that's not too bad.  More comfortable conditions should be following into the Fall.</div> <bR> <div> Our next Field Target event is scheduled for Sunday, November 8th.  I'm looking forward to a strong turn-out and more Air
