height=400 BGCOLOR="#000000" TEXT="#F7F7FF"> <div> Bench Rest 9-9-18</div> <bR> <bR> <bR> <div> DeSoto Airgunners Summer Swelter Bench Rest Series continued today with a 25M Club Match.  We had a turnout of 10 shooters (and one observer); a good showing considering we're in the midst of what seems like endless Summer in Southwest Florida.  77 degrees at Sunrise and 88 degrees at the match conclusion while slight overcast made for decent conditions with light wind and tolerable humidity levels.    </div> <bR> <div> Among today's participants were Ed and Marsha K. from the Tampa area.  With limited airgun experience they managed scores of 696 and 555, not bad for newbies with borrowed equipment.  It's always great to see and hear new shooters having a blast, and we hope their airgun enthusiasm carries them to  our next BR event and into the Field Target season at DeSoto.</div> <bR> <div> The usual suspects:  Jack and Colin directed the match, keeping things running smooth and safe.   Dennis D. and  Donovan T. are enjoying a healthy competition between them for Best Scores.  This month it was Dennis on top with a score of 745 points and 30 X's.   Linda and Jerry M. used today's event to get more trigger time and make those final tweaks before they shoot the Pyramid Air Field Target Match in Ohio next month.  Good Luck  and Safe Travels.  </div> <bR> <div> Today's Benchrest match was held in two relays.  Each competitor shot a 3-card set for a total of 75 timed and scored bullseye targets.   Under the USARB guidelines eveyone shot in Heavy Varmint category.</div> <bR> <div> Hearty Thanks to the participants who drove long distances, to those who put in the extras from course set-up and take-down, to Marshaling the event, and to Scoring the
