the Summer Swelter Benchrest Series in the books.   Our weather has been unseasonably hot in Southwest Florida,  and that's saying a lot.  Temps have been at or near records almost every day.    Intending to take advantage of cooler early morning temps,  club volunteers ( Chip, Dennis and Scott) had the range course set by ~7:00 AM while it was still a mild 83 degrees.   Match time was sunny with  dew points that ranged in the mid to high 70's  throughout the event.  Sticky.  Not much wind.</div> <bR> <div> A total of 14 shooters were accommodated  in two relays.   <B>Linda  M</B>.  was our <B>TOP GUN</B> scoring 741 points.  Also noteworthy,  she shot a <I>perfect card</I> ( 250 pts)  in her relay.   We haven't seen one of those single card scores in several months.  Impressive.   Our  "X-PRIZE" recognition went to second place finisher Dennis D  with 32 X's.  Some fine shooting all around  - Only 3 points separated First and Fourth place;  only 4 shooters scored less than 700 points, and they were  all close to that threshold.</div> <bR> <div> We also had  3 "Observers" today.  Turns out they're experienced Benchrest shooters (powder burners) and they want to compete in serious Air Rifle Benchrest too.  Who Knows - we may be needing  3 relays on some match day in the future.  Always good to see new interest.</div> <bR> <div> <I>Thanks Again</I> go to our intrepid scoring team of Linda, Chip and Dennis.  No close-call-scoring and no protests heard.   Our next scheduled event will be  25M Benchrest competition.  August 13th.  Start time for  the first
