the 2026  Field Target season attracted 15 shooters including  a Junior Field Target newbie Rylan.  He took us by surprise shooting  the event high score  winning Top Gun recognition.   Competing in the Hunter Division he scored  42 of possible 48 points, an achievement all the more impressive as  this was just his third outing onto the Field Target lanes.   Rylan was the only shooter to clean the Standing Lane today.   He obviously has had experience in other shooting disciplines including ROTC jr Marine Corps program at Venice High School where he shoots on the 10m 3 position team and is one of their top shooters at school.  Congrats Rylan for an o<I>utstanding </I>performance on the Field Target Lanes!</div> <bR> <div>     Range conditions varied through the event with temps in the 50’s during setup,  then quickly climbing into the upper 80’s under a mostly sunny sky.   Winds were generally calm.  A few strong puffs arrived mid-match as a weak cold-front passed through.  The cooling breezes  felt good.</div> <bR> <div> While no Troyer Ratings were officially measured, today's  scores and post match comments confirmed the course was of moderate difficulty.  There were a couple ‘cold- line’  interruptions to replace a damaged target.  All AAFTA Divisions were represented in today's event:   10 Hunters (including Lindsay sporting a TX200 Springer)  4 Open PCP and 1
