GOLF SCORED FIELD TARGET
In southwest Florida, DeSoto Airgunners Club has combined the fun and frustration of golf with the challenges of field target shooting in our Golf Scored Field Target Match. The course is set like a regular match with the metal Field Targets placed on multiple lanes at random distances. ( NOTE: NEVER shoot a pellet at real golf balls, never. )
SCORING:
Like traditional Golf this version of Field Target can be fun and frustrating.
Consider each target on the lane as a Hole, and each shot is a Stroke. Missed shots add strokes, And like regular golf, fewest number of strokes wins the match.
Here Are A Few Twists:
SCORING: It's possible to score better than a hole in one, ZERO Stroke scores are possible on every hole. Here is how:
Game Play:
Shot Scenarios:
TARGET 1:
SHOT 1 : [miss] (shoot again at same target)
SHOT 2:
[KILL] - Score 2 Strokes. Move on to NEXT target.
[MISS] - If you miss on your 2nd shot automatically Score 3 Strokes for that hole. Move on to next target.

OPTIONS: Risks & Rewards
If you're successful making that first shot you'll have to weigh potential risk - reward before your next trigger pull
SHOT 1: [kill]
You may score this as 1 Stroke; (A hole in one) and move on to the next target. HOWEVER... IT'S OPTION TIME .
You may - after making a kill on the first shot - announce you are taking (or not) the risk of an Option Shot.
The Option Shot is basically a second shot at the target you just downed .
Option Shot [KILL]: If successful downing that target a 2nd time, the shooter scores ZERO Strokes on that (target) hole and happily moves on to the next target.
Option Shot [ MISS] Missing the option shot results in a penalty, because it will be scored 3 strokes for that miss. – Move on (not so happily) to next target.
Your score on that "hole" just bloomed from (what could have been)1 stroke now to 3 strokes on that hole. What was a Hole In One is now a 3-Stroke holr score.
Now you see how the risk – reward option shots can be a big part of the game.

STROKE REDUCER:
One More Twist: A Stroke Eliminator.
Each competitor gets One Shot at this unique 3 face target with progressively smaller killzones. They correspond to progressively larger stroke count reductions.
Hitting the smallest target will cause all three faceplates to fall, and 3 strokes are DEDUCTED from that shooters total score.
Striking the mid size target flattens 2 faceplates and earns a 2 stroke reduction.
The largest hole is a single faceplate drop and scores a one stroke deduction for the shooter.
No Stress - A missed shot on the Stroke Eliminator is NOT counted as a stroke. Simply no deduction is made.
Dick Otten made a 3-Faceplate Multi-Target which can reduce a FT Golfer's stroke count by up to 3.
A single shot might save you 3 strokes. Feeling Lucky ??
