through the Summer and early Fall.  When the weather turns from hot and humid to torrid and sultry in Southwest Florida our Field Target activity stalls.  We shift gears and move under cover to shoot off our club's concrete benches on the 100 yard range.</FONT></div> <bR> <div> Today's conditions were fairly pleasant.  Sky was moderately cloudy which kept temps under 90 degrees.   Humidity was tolerable and wind speeds were mild,  generally under 5MPH.  Threatening rains never appeared.</div> <bR> <div> Jack & Colin have been doing a  fantastic job preparing the target stands, marshaling the shoots, recording scores and keeping the events safe and smooth flowing.  In addition to our usual 25 meter shoots,  DeSoto Airgunners will be hosting a 50 yard bench rest match (now tentatively scheduled for August ).  </div> <bR> <div> Today's match had 9 shooters and one very serious on-looker who plans to join in our fun later this season.   Billed as a Club Match ( Fun Only Event) we followed  the USARB guidelines; shooting a 3-card, 75 shot event.   Neil brought his TX springer but encountered some difficulty, and a couple  guys shot  sub-12-ft.lb PCP.   Everyone fell into the "Heavy Varmint" category.  </div> <bR> <div> In addition to Jack & Colin, Bill Shade earned a  special shout out for handling the scoring duty.  Bill also was Top Gun today with the highest score and most bulls.    Some 18 points and 11 bulls behind was Jerry McGee who placed second while shooting a borrowed gun.  Good Shooting guys.</div> <bR> <div> At the conclusion of today's fun shoot  we were invited to join a catered lunch sponsored by the Cowboy Action Shooters under the DeSoto Gun Club pavilion.  Pulled Pork Fajitas, salad, salsa and fixings ending with two kinds of desert.
