valign="top" height=400 BGCOLOR="#000000" TEXT="#F7F7FF"> <div> Benchrest 9-14-25</div> <bR> <div> A<FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#FFCC66" FACE="Arial" >n unusually cool morning (in the high 60's) greeted the  eight competitors for today's 25Metre Benchrest event.   An array of windicators were  set across the range; some by headlamp and flashlight  before sunrise.   We could definitely sense the later sunrise time as the Summer Swelter season begins to wind down.  </FONT></div> <bR> <div> Bright sun, blue sky and lower humidity made for comfortable conditions .  The relative calm of early morning gave way to steadier light winds around 6mph for the first Target Card session.  A few 12 mph 'surprise' gusts felt refreshing near the end of our third Target Card in the relay.  </div> <bR> <div> Chip won Top Gun recognition with the event high score of  745 points (and 32X's).    Scott took today's  X Prize  bagging 35 bulls from his third place finish with 737 points.  Scott scored the only 250 point Perfect Card in today's event.   It's always interesting to see the divergence between high points scored and the highest  X count scored in a match.   Top Gun winners are not always the  X Prize takers.  It's a sport of  variables known and unknown.</div> <bR> <div> Thanks again to the enthusiasts that drove by night to arrive early for  today's match.  Shout-outs to the volunteers that keep the 'Airgunners activities running smoothly at DeSoto Gun Club, and to all the <I>Swelterers</I> who make this an exciting summer season.  Our final benchrest match in the Summer Swelter Series
