However, a missed Option Shot will balloon into a 3 stroke score (a bogey) for that target.  A costly miss.   It’s Marksmanship Skills vs Risk Aversion Strategy.  Most competitors chose to bet on their skills and take the Option Shot almost every time it was available to them.</div> <bR> <bR> <div>  Each year we tweak the GSFT game a little.   For  GSFT26 we eliminated forced position lanes (no Standing or Kneeling shots were <I>imposed</I>).  We also increased the potential rewards on the Three FacePlate Stroke Shaver target that was positioned on lane 7.  Many competitors were successful shaving one, two, or three strokes from their scores, (all those shots were taken from a seated position).   Seems No-one dared to amplify the Stroke Shaver potential by shooting it off hand from a Standing position; at least not in regulation play.   (NOTE: I understand Dennis successfully bagged a very difficult 6 stroke reduction shot from a  standing position but only as a personal challenge <I>after</I> the match).</div> <bR> <div> Sounds Of The GOLF Channel</div> <div> Throughout the match one would occasionally hear  spontaneous celebrations, or muffled  groans rising from a lane as someone’s score quickly changed with a hit or the miss of a single shot.</div> <bR> <div> There was some fine shooting today with only a couple points separating First and Third places.   Taking every option shot and scoring a 3 stroke reduction, Dennis was our Match Champion.  He finished with a score of  +2  strokes.  His competition wasn't far behind.</div> <bR> <div> Golf Scored Field Target is a fun change of pace to our regular field target events.  No trophy or prizes today, just a  few laughs and friendly competition.</div> <bR> <div> A QUOTE FROM THE MATCH:  <I>Some shots just break your heart and mind at the same time.
